Potasinase Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Progressive Professional from Progressive Laboratories
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Potasinase against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Potasinase contains 5 active ingredients. The two we can assess are sodium copper chlorophyllin—a plant-derived compound related to chlorophyll—and potassium, an essential mineral your body needs for nerve and heart function.
The other three active ingredients are pea powder, lentil powder, and millet flour. The product also contains inactive ingredients (fillers and capsule material): rice flour, gelatin, and vegetable lubricant.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for chlorophyllin is mixed and limited. It's rated possibly ineffective for urinary odor, and there isn't enough reliable evidence to rate it for acne, cancer prevention, constipation, gas, or low white blood cell count.
We have no established effectiveness data for potassium's role in this supplement, nor for pea powder, lentil powder, or millet flour.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chlorophyllin is generally well tolerated short-term, but long-term safety data are sparse. Oral chlorophyll has been linked to photosensitization (sun sensitivity) and, in rare case reports, to a blistering condition called pseudoporphyria.
Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding—there isn't enough safety data to recommend use. Potassium from food is safe, but supplements can cause dangerously high blood levels, especially if you have kidney disease.
Oral potassium can cause stomach pain, belching, diarrhea, gas, nausea, and vomiting; in rare cases, high levels trigger irregular heartbeats, heart block, low blood pressure, and mental confusion. Use potassium supplements only under a doctor's guidance during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Potasinase, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you use ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), or potassium-sparing diuretics—all carry a moderate risk of high blood potassium. Also double-check if you take any photosensitizing drugs (medications that increase sun sensitivity).
Don't start this product without clearing it with your own healthcare provider first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Potasinase is designed to deliver potassium and chlorophyllin alongside plant powders, but the evidence for its uses is limited or absent. The real concern is potassium: if you take blood pressure medications (especially ACE inhibitors or ARBs) or potassium-sparing diuretics, this supplement could push your potassium to unsafe levels.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you, especially if you have kidney disease or take any blood pressure or water-pill medications.

Potasinase by Progressive Professional from Progressive Laboratories Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Potasinase from Progressive Professional contains sodium copper chlorophyllin and potassium, both of which interact with medications.
The most serious concern is potassium's interaction with blood pressure drugs: ACE inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) both carry a moderate risk of dangerously high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia) when combined with potassium supplements.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Potassium also interacts moderately with potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that retain potassium), again raising the risk of hyperkalemia—a condition that can cause irregular heartbeats, heart block, low blood pressure, and confusion. Sodium copper chlorophyllin may have additive effects with photosensitizing drugs (medications that make your skin more sensitive to sun damage), a moderate-severity interaction.
We could not check pea powder, lentil powder, or millet flour for interactions; interaction data isn't available for those ingredients. Altogether, these interactions span 366 individual medications.
Before you start Potasinase, use the search tool below to check your exact prescriptions, especially any blood pressure or diuretic medications.

Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin
Photosensitizing Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.
Potassium
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Using ACEIs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ACEIs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Using ARBs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ARBs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Concomitant use increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Using potassium-sparing diuretics with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
