This product contains 5 active ingredients: a proprietary blend of four live probiotic strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus paracasei, and Lactobacillus plantarum) plus prebiotic fructooligosaccharides. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria; the prebiotic acts as food for them to thrive.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients including cellulose, rice dextrin, L-leucine, and polysaccharides complex.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. It is possibly ineffective for atopic disease (allergic conditions), and there isn't enough reliable evidence to rate it for acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Uncommonly, taking it with other probiotics may cause mild gastrointestinal side effects — epigastric discomfort, abdominal pain, indigestion, gas, bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, or burping.
In rare cases, live probiotic organisms have been linked to serious infections (bacteremia, sepsis, abscess, endocarditis) primarily in patients with weakened immune systems or disrupted gut barriers; most experts believe these occur when the bacteria spread from places in the body where they naturally live. Pregnancy is rated possibly safe, but data are limited — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you.

Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
