Bifidobacterium longum infantis is generally well tolerated in healthy people, but caution is needed if you're seriously ill or have a weakened immune system. Rare side effects include abdominal discomfort, flatulence, constipation, and in one case, a dry cough.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is also generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children; uncommon gastrointestinal side effects when combined with other probiotics may include bloating, gas, mild diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Both ingredients carry a small theoretical risk of bacteremia (bacteria entering the bloodstream) in critically ill or immune-compromised patients — cases have been documented in preterm infants and seriously ill adults, so check with your doctor before use if you fall into that group.

We included one of the best, Jerusalem artichoke, in our formula and complemented it with dandelion.
