Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product has 3 active ingredients. The Proprietary Probiotic Blend includes Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis — both live beneficial bacteria meant to support gut health.
Blue Agave Inulin is a fiber that feeds those bacteria. The inactive ingredients (sugar, stearic acid, natural flavors, beet, citric acid, malic acid, magnesium stearate, and silica) are fillers and flavor compounds that make the chewable tablet work.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. It's rated possibly ineffective for atopic disease, and there isn't enough evidence to rate it for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
Blue Agave Inulin is possibly effective for obesity, constipation, and diabetes. There isn't enough evidence yet to rate it for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or iron deficiency anemia.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Mild gastrointestinal side effects — like abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, or diarrhea — are uncommon but can happen, especially when combined with other probiotics.
In rare cases, the live bacteria have caused serious infections in vulnerable patients, though this is very unusual. Blue Agave Inulin is generally well tolerated at food amounts but commonly causes gas and bloating, especially at higher doses.
Safety of concentrated supplement doses isn't well studied, so talk with your doctor before use. For pregnancy and breastfeeding: inulin is rated likely safe.
We hold no pregnancy or breastfeeding data for Lactobacillus acidophilus or Bifidobacterium animalis lactis — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your exact medications against these types before starting: antibiotic drugs (moderate interaction with Lactobacillus acidophilus — space the doses), and antidiabetes drugs (minor interaction with inulin — watch for low blood sugar). We could not check Bifidobacterium animalis lactis for interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with digestive issues like IBS and antibiotic-related diarrhea, especially with ongoing use. If you take antibiotics or diabetes medication, time the probiotic carefully and check with your pharmacist first.
Expect gas and bloating to start, especially from the inulin — that's common and often settles down.

Probiotic Chewables 5 Billion CFU Berry Flavor by VitaWorks Kids Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
VitaWorks Kids Probiotic Chewables 5 Billion CFU contains two ingredients we've checked for drug interactions, and one we couldn't.
Lactobacillus acidophilus, the main probiotic, has a moderate interaction with antibiotic drugs — the antibiotics can kill off the live organisms in the supplement, which might make the probiotic less effective. It's a timing issue: you'll want to space them out rather than take them at the same time.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Blue Agave Inulin carries a minor interaction with antidiabetes drugs. In theory, inulin might lower blood sugar on its own, which could raise the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) if you're already on diabetes medication — though the evidence that inulin actually does this is mixed.
We couldn't find interaction data for Bifidobacterium animalis lactis. Altogether, these interactions span 267 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Probiotic Chewables 5 Billion CFU Berry Flavor with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Blue Agave Inulin
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, inulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia with antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that inulin improves glycemic control in patients with diabetes; however, it is unclear if it has hypoglycemic effects.
