Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
PS 100 contains one active ingredient: phosphatidylserine, a naturally occurring fat-like compound found in cell membranes. The inactive ingredients are hypoallergenic plant fiber and a vegetarian capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is rated possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease based on available evidence. For athletic performance, cognitive function, ADHD, and dementia, the evidence is insufficient to rate how well it works.
That means the research so far hasn't established a clear benefit—or the studies are limited.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Orally, phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety hasn't been fully established. The most common side effects are flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
Insomnia is more likely at higher doses (around 600 mg), and gastrointestinal upset can occur at doses of 200–300 mg per day. There isn't enough safety information to know whether phosphatidylserine is safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, so the data advises against use during both.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for your situation.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking PS 100, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on anticholinergic drugs (for overactive bladder, certain nerve pain, and other conditions) or cholinergic drugs (for myasthenia gravis and some neurological conditions). Both interactions are Moderate severity and could affect how well those medications work or add to their effects.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
PS 100 might help with age-related memory loss or Alzheimer disease, though the evidence is still developing. It's generally well tolerated, but it can interact with anticholinergic and cholinergic medications—so check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting if you're on any prescription drugs.
Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise.

PS 100 (Phosphatidylserine) by Pure Encapsulations Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
PS 100 from Pure Encapsulations contains phosphatidylserine, which has documented interactions with two medication categories.
The most serious concerns are with anticholinergic drugs (used for conditions like overactive bladder and certain types of nerve pain) and cholinergic drugs (used for myasthenia gravis and some other neurological conditions)—both are Moderate severity.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine, a chemical messenger in your nervous system. With anticholinergic drugs, this could theoretically decrease how well those medications work.
With cholinergic drugs, it could add to their effects, potentially causing too much cholinergic activity. Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications.
Before you start this supplement, run your current medications through the interaction checker below. If you take any anticholinergic or cholinergic drug, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first—they can tell you whether phosphatidylserine is right for you or if timing or dosing changes are needed.
