What’s inside
Full disclosure
PS100 contains one active ingredient: phosphatidylserine at 100 mg per softgel. Phosphatidylserine is a naturally occurring compound found in cell membranes, thought to support brain function and cognitive health.
The capsule also contains several inactive ingredients — medium chain triglyceride, bovine gelatin, glycerin, water, sunflower lecithin, silicon dioxide, mixed tocopherols, and ascorbyl palmitate — which serve as the capsule shell and preservatives.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for phosphatidylserine is mixed. It's rated possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease, meaning there's some supportive evidence but it's not definitive.
For athletic performance, ADHD, general cognitive function, and dementia, the evidence is too limited or unreliable to rate it either way — we don't have enough good data to say whether it works for those uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety data is limited. The most common side effects from oral use are flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea — with gastrointestinal symptoms possible at doses around 200–300 mg daily and insomnia more likely at higher doses (around 600 mg).
There isn't enough safety information to use this supplement during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it. Safety while breastfeeding is also unknown, so avoidance is recommended if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking PS100, check with your pharmacist if you use anticholinergic drugs (like some antihistamines, antispasmodics, or medications for urinary symptoms) or cholinergic drugs (like some medications for myasthenia gravis or Alzheimer disease). Both carry Moderate interaction risk.
Use the medication search tool on this page to verify your specific drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
PS100 may be worth considering if you're interested in supporting cognitive health, especially for age-related mental decline or Alzheimer disease. If you take anticholinergic or cholinergic medications, check with your pharmacist first.
Watch for headache, insomnia, or stomach upset when you start. Avoid it during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

PS100 100 mg by Jarrow Formulas Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
PS100 by Jarrow Formulas contains phosphatidylserine, which has documented interactions with two categories of medications.
The most serious concern is with anticholinergic drugs — medications that block acetylcholine activity — where phosphatidylserine may theoretically decrease their effectiveness (Moderate severity). Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine levels in your body, which could work against what these drugs are trying to do.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, phosphatidylserine may have additive effects with cholinergic drugs (Moderate severity), which work by increasing acetylcholine activity. Combining them could theoretically lead to too much cholinergic activity.
Altogether, these interactions span 218 individual medications. If you take any anticholinergic or cholinergic medications, run them through the search tool on this page before starting this supplement.
