Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety isn't fully established. The most common side effects are flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
Insomnia is more likely at higher doses (around 600 mg), and stomach upset can happen at 200–300 mg per day. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe in those situations.
