HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Stevia Wow!! Sweet Cinnamon by L.A. Naturals
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: stevia leaf extract, a zero-calorie sweetener derived from the stevia plant. It's the only ingredient doing the work here.
The liquid also includes vegetable glycerin, deionized water, and natural cinnamon flavor as inactive ingredients that make up the formulation.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for stevia's effectiveness isn't well established in the data we hold. For diabetes, hypertension, and obesity — the areas stevia is sometimes used for — our rating is insufficient reliable evidence.
While some preliminary studies suggest stevia extract might affect blood sugar or blood pressure, the overall evidence isn't strong enough to rate its real-world benefit.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Purified stevia sweeteners in typical food amounts are generally recognized as safe. However, stevia in supplement doses (like in this product) isn't as well studied, so use caution — especially at higher doses.
When people do take stevia orally, it's generally well tolerated, though a small number report mild side effects like bloating, dizziness, headache, muscle pain, nausea, or numbness, most of which resolve after the first week. Rare allergic reactions have been reported.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take lithium, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product — stevia may raise lithium levels. Also double-check if you're on blood pressure medications or diabetes drugs, since stevia could theoretically intensify their effects.
Run your full medication list through our search tool below to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're just looking for a stevia-based sweetener and don't take lithium, blood pressure medications, or diabetes drugs, this product is likely fine. If you're on any of those medications — or any other prescription drugs — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding it to make sure it won't affect your treatment.
The evidence for stevia's health benefits isn't strong, so it's best thought of as a sweetening option rather than a supplement with proven effects.

For each ingredient in Stevia Wow!! Sweet Cinnamon with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Stevia leaf extract
Lithium
Theoretically, stevia might decrease clearance and increase levels of lithium.
Animal research suggests that stevia extracts might have diuretic activity. Theoretically, increased reabsorption of lithium along with sodium might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, stevia might increase the risk for hypoglycemia when combined with antidiabetes drugs.
Preliminary clinical research in patients with type 2 diabetes suggests that taking a single dose of stevia extract 1000 mg reduces postprandial blood glucose levels when taken with a meal. However, other clinical research in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes suggests that taking stevioside 250 mg three times daily does not significantly affect blood glucose levels or glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) after three months of treatment.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, combining stevia or stevia constituents with antihypertensive agents might increase the risk of hypotension.
Stevia extract and stevioside might lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension. However, other clinical research suggests that stevioside does not significantly lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
