Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

TerraVita Premium Collection Strawberry Fruit Powder is a single-ingredient product — just strawberry in powder form. There are no inactive fillers or other ingredients listed; what you get is the fruit itself, concentrated and dried.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Strawberry product and its label doesn't state a use — see Strawberry's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence supporting strawberry powder for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), and high blood pressure is insufficient according to the data we hold. That doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means reliable clinical research hasn't yet established whether it does.

If you're taking this product for one of those reasons, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about what the current evidence shows.

How safe is it?

Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 0 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Strawberry fruit as a food is widely eaten and considered safe for most people in normal amounts. When taken in supplement doses like the powder form here, it's generally well tolerated.

Rarely, it's been reported to cause nausea — one clinical trial found nausea in participants taking 50 grams daily — and allergic reactions including oral allergy syndrome, skin reactions, and in one topical case, contact dermatitis. Overall, allergy to strawberry is rare.

For pregnancy and breastfeeding, the safety data isn't there for concentrated supplement doses. Eating strawberries as food is generally fine, but there isn't enough information to know whether this powder form is safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

If you're pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Strawberry.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 316 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check before you use this if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (like aspirin or clopidogrel) — strawberry may increase bleeding risk. Also check if you take p-glycoprotein substrates, a large medication group that the strawberry can affect.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

In vitro and animal research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit platelet aggregation due to its phenolic content. Theoretically, strawberry might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
P-Glycoprotein Substrates

In vitro research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit p-glycoprotein efflux. Theoretically, strawberry might inhibit p-glycoprotein mediated drug efflux and potentially increase levels of drugs that are substrates of p-glycoprotein. Until more is known, strawberry should be used cautiously in people taking p-glycoprotein substrates.
Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.

Strawberry Fruit Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection: Common Questions

Does Strawberry Fruit Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Strawberry Fruit Powder has a known interaction with 316 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Strawberry Fruit Powder contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Does strawberry powder actually work for high blood pressure or cholesterol?
The evidence we have on file isn't strong enough to say. Research hasn't yet reliably shown whether strawberry powder helps these conditions, so if you're taking it for blood pressure or cholesterol, talk with your pharmacist about what's proven to work.
What are the side effects?
Strawberry powder is generally well tolerated. Rarely, people report nausea — one trial found it in people taking 50 grams daily — and allergic reactions like oral allergy syndrome or skin reactions are uncommon. Contact dermatitis can happen if it touches your skin. Overall, strawberry allergy is rare.
Is it safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?
There isn't enough data to know either way for concentrated supplement doses. Eating strawberries as food is generally fine, but this powder form hasn't been well studied in pregnancy or while nursing. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before you start if you're expecting or breastfeeding.
Is this just strawberry, or are there other ingredients?
It's just strawberry in powder form — no fillers, binders, or other additives listed.
Can I take this with aspirin or blood thinners?
Strawberry may increase your bleeding risk when combined with blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin. Don't start this powder without checking with your pharmacist or doctor if you take any of those medications.
