Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: strawberry powder. There are no inactive ingredients listed.

You're getting pure freeze-dried or powdered strawberry fruit with nothing else added.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Strawberry product and its label doesn't state a use — see Strawberry's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish that strawberry powder works for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), or high blood pressure. The rating for all of these is insufficient reliable evidence—meaning the research so far isn't solid enough to say whether it helps.

If you're thinking about using this for any of those conditions, talk with your doctor about what the current science supports.

How safe is it?

Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 0 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Strawberry is widely eaten as food and considered safe in normal amounts. When taken as a concentrated supplement, the safety data are thinner—especially in pregnancy and breastfeeding—so there isn't enough information to say it's safe or unsafe in those situations.

Talk with your pharmacist or doctor if you're pregnant or nursing and want to use this powder. When taken by mouth in food amounts, strawberry is generally well tolerated.

In medicinal doses, it's also been well tolerated overall, though a small number of people have reported nausea (including in a trial using 50 grams daily of freeze-dried powder). Rarely, allergic reactions occur—including oral allergy syndrome, skin reactions, and contact dermatitis when applied to skin.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Strawberry.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 316 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your pharmacist before using this if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (aspirin, clopidogrel, enoxaparin, and others)—strawberry may increase bleeding risk. Also double-check if you're on any medication your doctor says is cleared by p-glycoprotein, as strawberry might affect its levels.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

In vitro and animal research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit platelet aggregation due to its phenolic content. Theoretically, strawberry might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
P-Glycoprotein Substrates

In vitro research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit p-glycoprotein efflux. Theoretically, strawberry might inhibit p-glycoprotein mediated drug efflux and potentially increase levels of drugs that are substrates of p-glycoprotein. Until more is known, strawberry should be used cautiously in people taking p-glycoprotein substrates.
Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.

Strawberry Fruit Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection: Common Questions

Does Strawberry Fruit Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Strawberry Fruit Powder has a known interaction with 316 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Strawberry Fruit Powder contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Does strawberry powder actually help with heart health or diabetes?
The evidence we hold rates it as insufficient—the research so far isn't solid enough to say it works for those. If you're managing cardiovascular disease or diabetes, talk with your doctor about proven options.
Is it safe to take if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
There isn't enough data on concentrated supplement doses during pregnancy or nursing to say either way. Strawberry as food is fine, but this powder in medicinal amounts hasn't been well studied. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
What side effects should I watch for?
When taken in food amounts, strawberry is well tolerated. In medicinal doses, nausea has been reported by a small number of people, and allergic reactions (including oral allergy syndrome and skin reactions) are rare but can happen. If you have a known strawberry allergy, skip this product.
Does this powder have any fillers or other ingredients mixed in?
No—this product is strawberry powder only. There are no inactive ingredients listed.
Why should I be careful with blood thinners?
Strawberry can slow platelet clumping, which may increase bleeding risk when combined with blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin or clopidogrel. That's why it's important to check with your pharmacist if you take any of those medications.
