What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Stroke Mender against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Stroke Mender by BioAnue
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Stroke Mender contains seven active ingredients in a proprietary blend formula. Bromelain is an enzyme from pineapple; nattokinase is a fibrin-dissolving enzyme from fermented soy; serrapeptase is another fibrin-dissolving enzyme; ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is a cellular energy molecule; CDP-choline (citicoline) is a compound that supports brain chemistry; CoQ10 is an antioxidant involved in cellular energy; and brain extract is included for potential nervous system support.
The capsule itself is gelatin.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence on this product's effectiveness is limited. Citicoline shows possibly effective evidence for age-related cognitive decline and glaucoma, but only insufficient evidence for stroke itself.
ATP (adenosine) is effective for heart rhythm problems and cardiovascular diagnostic testing, though the supplement form has minimal safety data compared to the prescription injectable version. CoQ10 is likely effective for CoQ10 deficiency and possibly effective for heart failure and migraine.
For the other ingredients — bromelain, nattokinase, serrapeptase, and brain extract — evidence for their claimed uses in stroke recovery is rated insufficient or the data isn't on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Short-term use of bromelain, nattokinase, serrapeptase, and citicoline is generally well tolerated, but long-term safety data is limited for all of them. Bromelain may cause diarrhea, flatulence, stomach upset, or headache when taken by mouth, and rarely can trigger allergic reactions if inhaled.
Nattokinase carries rare reports of serious bleeding, including one case of brain hemorrhage in a patient taking aspirin. Serrapeptase commonly causes stomach pain, nausea, or upset stomach at roughly the same rate as placebo.
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated; gastrointestinal side effects like nausea, diarrhea, or heartburn occur in less than 1% of patients. All ingredients except CoQ10 should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take dipyridamole (Persantine) — this is a Major-severity interaction. Also discuss it if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, and similar); blood pressure medications; carbamazepine (Tegretol); chemotherapy drugs that work by inducing oxidative stress; tetracycline antibiotics; or caffeine or theophylline supplements.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Stroke Mender is intended to support stroke recovery and brain health, combining blood-thinning and anti-inflammatory ingredients. If you take blood thinners, heart medications, blood pressure drugs, or chemotherapy, you must check with your own doctor or pharmacist before taking this product — the interactions are real and potentially serious.

Stroke Mender by BioAnue Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Stroke Mender by BioAnue contains seven ingredients, four of which have documented interactions with medications.
The most serious interaction is between ATP (adenosine) and the heart medication dipyridamole (Persantine) — a Major-severity interaction where dipyridamole can amplify adenosine's therapeutic and toxic effects, potentially causing dizziness, a slow heart rate, and fainting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Bromelain, nattokinase, and serrapeptase all carry Moderate-severity interactions with blood thinners (anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs) like warfarin and aspirin. These three ingredients have antiplatelet or blood-clotting effects of their own and may increase your bleeding risk when combined with these medications.
Nattokinase also poses a Moderate risk with blood pressure-lowering drugs (antihypertensive medications). CoQ10 has its own Moderate interaction with warfarin, potentially reducing its blood-thinning power; it also interacts with certain chemotherapy drugs (alkylating agents) and carries a Minor interaction with blood pressure medications.
Bromelain and ATP have Minor interactions with tetracycline antibiotics and methylxanthines (including caffeine and theophylline), respectively.
CDP-choline (citicoline) has no interactions documented in our data. Brain Extract could not be checked — we hold no interaction data for it.
Altogether, these interactions span 365 individual medications.
If you take any blood thinner, heart medication, blood pressure drug, or chemotherapy agent, check your exact medications with the tool on this page before starting this product.

For each ingredient in Stroke Mender with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Nattokinase
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Nattokinase might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
Nattokinase has thrombolytic and anticoagulant effects. There is a case report of intracranial hemorrhage in a patient who added nattokinase to aspirin therapy.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, nattokinase might increase the risk of hypotension when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research suggests that nattokinase may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
CoQ10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
Bromelain
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Bromelain may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
There is one case report of a patient experiencing minor bruising while taking bromelain with naproxen. Bromelain is thought to have antiplatelet activity. Whether this interaction is of concern with topical bromelain is unclear. Interference with coagulation of burn wounds has been reported in a patient receiving bromelain-based enzymatic debridement. However, observational research has found that topical bromelain debridement is not associated with increases or decreases in laboratory markers of coagulation when compared with surgical debridement.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, bromelain might increase levels of tetracycline antibiotics.
Laboratory research suggests that bromelain might increase the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics. However, a study in healthy adults reported no difference in tetracycline plasma levels when a 500 mg dose was taken with or without bromelain 80 mg.
Serrapeptase
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, taking serrapeptase with drugs that have antiplatelet or anticoagulant effects might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
In vitro research shows that serrapeptase has fibrinolytic activity.
ATP
Dipyridamole (Persantine)
Dipyridamole can increase the therapeutic and toxic effects of adenosine.
Dipyridamole decreases the metabolism of adenosine. Intravenous infusion of adenosine in patients who are taking dipyridamole can cause dizziness, bradycardia, and syncope. Dipyridamole should be discontinued for several days prior to a cardiac stress test using adenosine.
Carbamazepine (Tegretol)
Carbamazepine might increase the risk of heart block when used concomitantly with adenosine.
Carbamazepine and adenosine can both cause heart block. Giving them concurrently might produce an additive effect.
Methylxanthines
Methylxanthines are competitive antagonists of adenosine and can block its pharmacologic effects.
The methylxanthines, aminophylline, caffeine, and theophylline, can block the effects of adenosine by acting as competitive antagonists at adenosine cell surface receptors. It is recommended that methylxanthines be avoided for 24 hours prior to cardiac stress tests.
