Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo. The aspirin part of your aspirin-with-codeine already thins the blood by making your platelets less sticky. Serrapeptase, at least in lab studies, seems to have its own clot-breaking (fibrinolytic) activity. Stack the two together and, in theory, you could bruise more easily or bleed a little longer than usual, say from a small cut, a nosebleed, or your gums when brushing.

I want to be honest that this concern comes from test-tube research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, if you notice unusual bruising, bleeding that won't stop, or dark stools, loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding serrapeptase.
