Serrapeptase + Warfarin Sodium
Warfarin Sodium brand names: Coumadin, Panwarfin, Sofarin.
Serrapeptase has a moderate interaction with Warfarin Sodium. Theoretically, taking serrapeptase with drugs that have antiplatelet or anticoagulant effects might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Warfarin Sodium
Warfarin Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Serrapeptase interacts with.
In vitro research shows that serrapeptase has fibrinolytic activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: warfarin already thins your blood by lowering your clotting ability. Serrapeptase is an enzyme that, at least in lab studies, seems to help break down clots too (that's called fibrinolytic activity). Stack the two together and the worry is that you could tip too far toward bleeding.
I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern is theoretical, based on how serrapeptase behaves in a test tube, not on solid studies in people. Still, warfarin is a drug where even small shifts matter, so I'd play it safe. Watch for things like unusual bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, pink or red urine, or dark stools. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding serrapeptase, and don't change your warfarin on your own.

About Serrapeptase
What is Serrapeptase?
- Inflammation and swelling
- Sinus and respiratory congestion
- Pain after surgery or injury
- Joint and back pain
- Thinning mucus
Serrapeptase is an enzyme marketed to reduce inflammation, swelling, pain, and mucus, but the human evidence is limited and mostly low quality. If you want to try it, choose an enteric-coated product, follow the label, and check with your pharmacist or doctor first—especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or take other medicines.
About Warfarin
What Is Warfarin Used For?
Brand names: Coumadin, Panwarfin, Sofarin
Warfarin sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets are both used to prevent and treat venous thrombosis (blood clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lungs). They are also used to prevent clot-related complications in people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) or who have had a heart valve replaced.
In people who have had a heart attack, warfarin is used to reduce the risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or other clotting events. It does not dissolve an existing clot, but it helps prevent the clot from growing and stops new dangerous clots from forming.
