Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Tribulus Gold contains one active ingredient: tribulus, a plant extract that's been used traditionally in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. The 750 mg dose per capsule is what you're getting in terms of active ingredient.
The rest of the capsule is made up of inactive ingredients—gelatin and vegetable cellulose—that hold it together and let you swallow it easily.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Tribulus appears to be possibly effective for sexual dysfunction, based on the evidence we have on file. That's the strongest claim we can make for this product.
For athletic performance, the evidence leans toward possibly ineffective. For benign prostatic hyperplasia (an enlarged prostate that can affect urination), we don't have enough reliable evidence yet to rate whether it helps.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Tribulus is generally well tolerated over the short term in healthy adults, but the quality and long-term safety data are limited. Most people who take it orally don't report side effects, though some have experienced gastrointestinal complaints like abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.
Rare serious side effects have been reported, including liver and kidney injury, seizures, and in one case a patient who drank very large amounts of tribulus water developed seizures, hepatitis, and acute kidney injury. Avoid Tribulus Gold during pregnancy because it may affect hormones and safety is not established.
Do not use while breastfeeding due to lack of reliable safety information.

Talk to your pharmacist before using Tribulus Gold if you take blood pressure medications, diabetes medications, or lithium. These are Moderate-severity interactions that could lower your blood pressure too much, cause low blood sugar, or raise lithium levels in your body.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're interested in tribulus for sexual function and you don't take blood pressure or diabetes medications, lithium, or other interacting drugs, this may be worth discussing with your pharmacist. If you do take any of those medications, you need to check with us first—the interaction risks are real.
Pregnant or breastfeeding people should skip it.

Tribulus Gold 750 MG by Precision Engineered Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Tribulus Gold by Precision Engineered does interact with medications, and the concerns center on how it may affect your blood pressure, blood sugar, and lithium levels.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The most serious interactions involve blood pressure medications (antihypertensives). Tribulus can lower blood pressure on its own—it works partly by blocking an enzyme your body uses to regulate blood pressure—so combining it with your blood pressure drug could push your pressure too low.
This is a Moderate-severity interaction.
You'll also want to be careful if you take diabetes medications. Tribulus can lower blood glucose (blood sugar), so taking it alongside your antidiabetes drug raises your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
This is also Moderate severity. If you take lithium for mood disorders, tribulus may increase lithium levels in your body because it seems to have diuretic properties that could reduce how much lithium your kidneys clear.
That's Moderate severity too, and your lithium dose might need adjusting.
Altogether, these interactions span 256 individual medications. Before you start Tribulus Gold, run your exact medications through the checker on this page.
