Aliskiren falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Tribulus interacts with.

Theoretically, taking tribulus with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that tribulus can lower blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Tribulus has also demonstrated hypotensive effects in pre-hypertensive adults.

Here's the gist: Tribulus may have a mild blood pressure lowering effect of its own. In animal studies it seemed to block ACE (an enzyme that tightens blood vessels), and one small study in pre-hypertensive adults showed a modest drop in blood pressure. Since Aliskiren (Tekturna) is already lowering your blood pressure through the renin system, stacking the two could, in theory, push your numbers down a little too far.

That might show up as dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, headache, or feeling unusually tired. To be fair, this concern is theoretical and rests mostly on lab and animal data, so it's not a strong warning. Still, if you're considering Tribulus while on Aliskiren, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your home readings.

Aliskiren and Tekturna tablets are both approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children who are at least 6 years old and weigh 50 kg (about 110 lbs) or more. Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like strokes and heart attacks.

Managing blood pressure is usually part of a broader plan that may also include diet changes, exercise, cholesterol control, and other medications. Many people need more than one blood pressure drug to reach their goal.
