Triple B-12 contains three different forms of vitamin B12: methylcobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, and hydroxycobalamin. B12 is an essential nutrient your body needs for nerve function, red blood cell formation, and DNA synthesis.
These three forms are all active B12 compounds that work similarly in your body. The product also contains inactive ingredients like maltodextrin, acacia, cellulose, orange juice, magnesium stearate, and natural cinnamon flavor.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The three B12 forms in this product are effective for treating B12 deficiency and a rare genetic condition called Imerslund-Grasbeck disease. They're also likely effective for cyanide poisoning, and possibly effective for canker sores and a nerve pain condition called postherpetic neuralgia (pain that lingers after shingles).
If you're taking this for general B12 deficiency, the data supports its use.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
B12 is generally very well tolerated, and your body simply excretes excess amounts in your urine, so there's no established upper limit. It's considered safe at normal recommended amounts during pregnancy and breastfeeding, though you should follow your doctor's advice on dosing.
Rare serious side effects have been reported: severe low potassium (hypokalemia) linked to correcting certain types of anemia, and in very rare cases, allergic reactions like rash or contact dermatitis (in people with cobalt sensitivity). Most people tolerate B12 well without any problems.
