HelloPharmacist Scorecard of UltraBiotic 100 by HoltraCeuticals
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
UltraBiotic 100 contains six active ingredients, all beneficial bacteria (probiotics). Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are the two strains we have interaction and effectiveness data for; the others are Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium lactis, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
The capsule itself is made from vegetable material, and the blend includes microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate as inactive ingredients to hold everything together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
For Lactobacillus acidophilus, the data shows it may help with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis—all rated possibly effective. For Bifidobacterium bifidum, it's possibly effective for IBS and respiratory tract infections.
The evidence for both strains isn't strong enough yet to rate them for allergic rhinitis, Alzheimer disease, or generalized anxiety disorder. For the other four bacterial strains in the product, we don't have effectiveness ratings in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Uncommon side effects from L. acidophilus may include abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, or diarrhea.
Bloating and flatulence can also occur with B. bifidum use. Because these are live organisms, there's a theoretical risk of serious infection in people with very weakened immune systems—check with your doctor before using if that applies to you.
No pregnancy or breastfeeding data is on file for any of the ingredients in this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main medication type to double-check: taking them at the same time as this probiotic may reduce how well the probiotic works. Separate your doses by a few hours.
For all your other medications, use the search tool below to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have IBS or are dealing with antibiotic-associated diarrhea, this probiotic blend may be worth trying. If you're on antibiotics, time your doses several hours apart so the antibiotic doesn't kill the live bacteria.
People with weakened immune systems should talk to their doctor first. Run your medication list through the checker on this page before you start.

UltraBiotic 100 by HoltraCeuticals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
UltraBiotic 100 by HoltraCeuticals is a six-ingredient probiotic blend.
Two of its bacterial strains—Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum—have documented interactions with medications. The most serious concern is with antibiotic drugs: both strains may lose effectiveness if you take them at the same time as antibiotics, because the antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the probiotic before they colonize your gut.
We weren't able to check four of the other ingredients (Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium lactis, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus) because we hold no data for them.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
If you take an antibiotic, separate it from your probiotic dose by a few hours—your doctor or pharmacist can give you the exact timing. For your other medications, use the interaction checker below with your exact drug names.

Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum (Bb-02)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
