Vitrix Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Vitrix against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Vitrix contains 5 active ingredients. The product's main components are Vitex agnus castus, Tribulus terrestris (a legume used traditionally for sexual function), Avena sativa (oats, a whole grain), Epimedium (a plant extract), and Eurycoma longifolia (a root extract from Southeast Asia, also called Tongkat Ali).
It also includes inactive ingredients — vegetable cellulose capsule material, glycerol, and purified water.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Tribulus is possibly effective for sexual dysfunction based on clinical research, but possibly ineffective for athletic performance. Oats are likely effective for managing cholesterol and supporting heart health.
Eurycoma longifolia is possibly effective for sexual desire but possibly ineffective for athletic performance; evidence is insufficient to rate it for back pain, osteoporosis, or diabetes. We hold no effectiveness data for Vitex agnus castus or Epimedium in our monographs.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Tribulus is often well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, but long-term safety data are limited. Serious adverse effects are rare but have included liver and kidney injury, seizures, and in one case report, significant weakness and kidney problems after very high intake.
More commonly, tribulus can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation — though in one study these rates matched placebo. Oats are well tolerated and generally safe when eaten as food; as a concentrate, they're less studied but may cause bloating, flatulence, and gas as fiber content increases.
Eurycoma longifolia is generally tolerated short-term, though long-term safety is uncertain; theoretically, if it raises testosterone beyond normal range, side effects could include acne and liver stress. Safety data are not established for Vitex or Epimedium in our records.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Vitrix, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on any of these: antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications), antidiabetes drugs or insulin, lithium, or propranolol. These Moderate and Minor interactions are the ones we have data for; there may be others depending on your specific medications.
If you're on any prescription, run it through the checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Vitrix may appeal to you if you're interested in supporting sexual function or managing cholesterol, but it's not for everyone. If you take blood pressure or diabetes medication, use lithium, or take propranolol, you'll need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — the ingredients can affect how these work.
The same goes for any prescription you're on. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this to your routine to make sure it won't interfere with your medications.

Vitrix by Nutrex Research Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Vitrix by Nutrex Research contains several ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
Through its Tribulus terrestris, Avena sativa (oats), and Eurycoma longifolia content, the most serious concern is a Moderate-severity interaction with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives) — Tribulus may lower your blood pressure further, raising the risk of excessively low blood pressure.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Tribulus also interacts Moderately with diabetes medications and insulin; it can lower blood sugar, which might increase your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), and your insulin dose may need adjustment. Tribulus has a Moderate interaction with lithium, a mood-stabilizing medication — it may increase lithium levels in your body, potentially requiring a dose change.
Oats similarly interact Moderately with antidiabetes drugs and insulin for the same reason: they can lower blood glucose and reduce the insulin you need.
Eurycoma longifolia carries Minor interactions with propranolol (a beta-blocker for high blood pressure and heart conditions), which it may reduce in effectiveness, and with several enzyme systems in your liver — specifically CYP1A2, CYP2C19, and CYP2A6 substrates — that theoretically could raise levels of certain drugs, though human evidence is limited. It also has a Minor interaction with testosterone itself; if you're on testosterone therapy, this ingredient might raise your levels further.
Altogether, these interactions span 501 individual medications.
We could not check Vitex agnus castus or Epimedium because we hold no interaction data for them. Use the medication checker on this page to search your exact prescriptions before you start.

liquid German Tribulus terrestris
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking tribulus with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that Tribulus can lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes who are taking antidiabetes medications.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking tribulus with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that tribulus can lower blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Tribulus has also demonstrated hypotensive effects in pre-hypertensive adults.
Lithium
Theoretically, tribulus might increase the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
Tribulus is thought to have diuretic properties. Due to these potential diuretic effects, tribulus might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
Eurycoma Longfolia Jack
Propranolol (Inderal)
Eurycoma longifolia can reduce the levels and clinical effects of propranolol.
A small clinical study in healthy persons shows that taking a single dose of a water-based Eurycoma longifolia extract 200 mg, in combination with a single dose of propranolol 80 mg, reduces the propranolol area under the curve (AUC) by 29%, reduces the peak concentration by 42%, and increases time to peak concentration by 86% when compared with control. Since the elimination half-life of propranolol did not change, it seems that Eurycoma longifolia alters the kinetics of propranolol by decreasing its absorption in the gut, and not by altering its metabolism. It is not known if separating administration will prevent this interaction.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2A6 (Cyp2A6) Substrates
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2A6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2A6 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2C19 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Testosterone
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia may further increase levels of testosterone.
A clinical study in aging males with testosterone levels below 300 ng/dL shows that taking a specific water extract of Eurycoma longifolia roots (Physta; Biotropics Malaysia) 100-200 mg daily with breakfast for 12 weeks increases total testosterone levels by 8% to 11% when compared with placebo. It is unclear whether this increase would occur in individuals with normal testosterone levels.
Avena sativa
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, oats may have additive effects with antidiabetic agents and might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Consuming oats can decrease blood glucose in patients with diabetes. In those who require insulin, taking oats 100 grams daily for 2 days reduces the insulin dose required to achieve metabolic control.
Insulin
Concomitant use of oats and insulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In patients with insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes, taking oats 100 grams daily for 2 days reduces the insulin dose required to achieve metabolic control.
