Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: white mulberry leaf extract in powder form. White mulberry leaf has been studied for several health purposes, including blood sugar management and bone health, though the evidence for most uses remains limited.
There are no other inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for white mulberry leaf is not yet established in our data. The product has been studied for androgenic alopecia (hair loss), bone health, common cold, diabetes, and high cholesterol, but reliable evidence to rate its effectiveness for any of these is insufficient.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means more research is needed to know.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
White mulberry leaf powder is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth, though it does cause digestive side effects in some people. In one clinical trial at 4.6 grams three times daily for four weeks, about half of participants experienced bloating and flatulence, a quarter had loose stools, and a fifth had constipation — but these effects tended to improve over the 12-week study period for many people.
There isn't enough safety data to recommend medicinal amounts during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this supplement.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check your medications against the tool below if you take antidiabetes drugs (because of the low blood sugar risk) or OCT2 substrate medications like metformin (because white mulberry leaf may slow how your kidneys clear them). Both are Moderate-severity interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
White mulberry leaf extract is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but it can affect blood sugar and how your body clears certain medications — especially diabetes drugs and medications that depend on kidney transport systems. If you take any prescription medication, check it against the interaction tool on this page before starting.

White Mulberry Leaf Extract, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.
Organic Cation Transporter 2 (Oct2) Substrates
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might slow the elimination and increase the adverse effects of drugs which are OCT2 substrates.
Animal research shows that coadministration of white mulberry leaf extract with metformin, an OCT2 substrate, slows the renal elimination of metformin via inhibition of OCT2 activity. OCT2 is expressed in the kidneys and is responsible for transporting cationic drugs into tubular epithelial cells in order to be excreted in the urine.
