Cyclopentolate falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Algin interacts with.

Theoretically, algin can alter the absorption of oral drugs. Laboratory research shows that algin, when consumed as part of the diet or used as a thickening agent in infant formula, reduces the absorption of certain minerals. Also, algin has been used as a tablet binder and disintegrant to enhance drug bioavailability. To avoid changes in absorption, take algin 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's some good news that should put your mind at ease. The interaction on file talks about algin possibly slowing how the body absorbs oral medicines you swallow. But Cyclopentolate (Cyclogyl) is an eye drop, not a pill. You place it right on the surface of the eye, where it works locally to widen the pupil and relax the eye muscles for an exam. It never goes through your stomach, so algin's gel-forming action in your gut has nothing to interact with here.

So practically speaking, taking algin (whether in food or a heartburn product) shouldn't change how your eye drops work. This concern only really applies to medicines you take by mouth. If you ever have questions about timing your supplements, your pharmacist is happy to help.
