Here's the simple version: Kombiglyze (saxagliptin plus extended-release metformin) is already working to bring your blood sugar down. Ambrette contains a plant compound called myricetin that, in animal studies, also nudged blood sugar lower. Put the two together and the worry is that your sugar could dip a little too far, what we call hypoglycemia.

I want to be honest about how shaky this evidence is. This is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not real cases in people, so for most folks it's a minor issue. Still, if you do add ambrette, just keep an eye out for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling hungry and lightheaded, and check your glucose if you have a meter. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before starting it so nobody's caught off guard.
