Quviviq (daridorexant) is a sleep medicine your body clears mostly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, American elder appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that holds true in people, your body could break down daridorexant more slowly, letting more of it build up. That can mean a stronger effect than expected: extra grogginess, deeper drowsiness the next morning, dizziness, or trouble feeling fully awake.

Here's the reassuring part. This is only a theoretical concern based on lab work, not real patient data, so we honestly don't know if it matters in everyday life. Cooked elderberry in food or a normal cold-and-flu supplement may have little effect. Still, before pairing them, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.
