Aquatic Exercise + Candesartan Cilexetil

Candesartan Cilexetil brand names: Atacand, Amias.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Aquatic Exercise and Candesartan Cilexetil in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Aquatic Exercise and Candesartan Cilexetil

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Candesartan Cilexetil and Aquatic Exercise in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Aquatic Exercise alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Aquatic Exercise at all — not against Candesartan Cilexetil, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Aquatic Exercise is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Aquatic Exercise and Candesartan Cilexetil May Share a Side Effect

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so practicing Aquatic Exercise while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

Special populations

Aquatic Exercise in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Pregnancy Possibly Safe

When conducted appropriately, short-term. Clinical research suggests that aquatic exercise is safe during pregnancy when conducted at temperatures ranging from 28.8-33.4℃ (83.8-92.1℉) for up to 45 minutes.

Pregnancy Possibly Unsafe

When heated aquatic exercise is used. Conditions that increase maternal core temperature above 39℃ have been associated with increased risk of teratogenicity. Some early research also found an association between maternal heat exposure in the form of a hot tub or sauna during the first trimester and increased risk of neural tube defects. A more recent analysis of clinical research shows that it is safe to sit in hot baths at 40℃ (104℉) or in saunas at 70℃ (158℉) for up to 20 minutes during pregnancy, regardless of trimester. However, the ACOG clinical practice guidelines continue to discourage hot water baths or saunas during pregnancy due to possible risks. LACTACTION: Insufficient reliable information available; however, there is no known reason to expect any adverse effects.

What Candesartan Cilexetil Is Prescribed For, and What Aquatic Exercise Has Been Studied For

These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Candesartan Cilexetil is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Aquatic Exercise is a practice: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.

Candesartan Cilexetil is prescribed for: Candesartan tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children ages 1 to under 17. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Candesartan tablets are also used in adults with heart failure (NYHA class II–IV) with reduced heart pumping function to lower the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization from heart failure. Atacand is specifically studied for use alongside an ACE inhibitor for added benefit in heart failure.

    Aquatic Exercise for stroke

Aquatic exercise might improve balance and mobility better than land-based exercise in patients recovering from stroke; however, not all research agrees. Meta-analyses of 2-9 clinical studies in post-stroke patients shows that aquatic exercise modestly improves balance on the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), mobility on the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, muscle strength, and/or some measures of function when compared with land…

Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Candesartan Cilexetil on your own; if you are taking Aquatic Exercise for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.

About Aquatic Exercise

What is Aquatic Exercise?

  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Low back pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Balance and fall prevention
  • General fitness and weight management
  • Rehabilitation after injury or surgery

Aquatic exercise is physical activity done in water, such as water aerobics, lap swimming, or pool-based physical therapy. The buoyancy of water reduces stress on joints, making it a gentle, generally safe way to build strength, flexibility, and fitness, especially for people with arthritis or chronic pain. Check with your doctor before starting if you have heart, lung, or balance problems.

Water aerobics, aquatic physical therapy, swimming, deep-water running, hydrotherapy classes

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Aquatic Exercise is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Aquatic Exercise record says about it on its own.

Aquatic Exercise: dosing

There is no single "dose" for aquatic exercise. General fitness guidelines suggest aiming for about 150 minutes of moderate activity per week, which can include water-based sessions, but your ideal amount depends on your health and goals. Many programs run two to three sessions per week. If you are recovering from injury or have a chronic condition, a physical therapist or your doctor can help set a safe starting point and progress you gradually.Start slowly, warm up, stay hydrated even in the water, and stop if you feel pain beyond normal muscle effort.

Practicing Aquatic Exercise While Taking Candesartan Cilexetil: Common Questions

Is it safe to practice Aquatic Exercise while taking Candesartan Cilexetil?
We do not list a known interaction between Aquatic Exercise and Candesartan Cilexetil. That does not guarantee the combination is risk-free, so confirm with your pharmacist or doctor — especially if you take other medications or have a health condition.
Do Aquatic Exercise and Candesartan Cilexetil have any of the same side effects?
Yes — our sources link each of them separately to one of the same effects. That is not an interaction: neither changes how your body handles the other. It does mean that if one of those effects turns up, it can be harder to tell which one is behind it. They are listed on this page with the source behind each.
Are Aquatic Exercise and Candesartan Cilexetil used for the same thing?
They overlap in purpose, which usually means the real question is whether you need both rather than whether they are safe together. This page lists the shared uses and how strong the evidence is for Aquatic Exercise in each. That is a conversation for your prescriber, especially if Candesartan Cilexetil is being adjusted to a target.
Does Candesartan Cilexetil interact with any supplements?
Yes. Candesartan Cilexetil has documented interactions with 138 supplements in our database — Aquatic Exercise is not one of them. The Candesartan Cilexetil interaction page linked on this page lists every one, ranked by severity.
