Here's the simple version: Briumvi (ublituximab) works by quieting part of your immune system. It clears out certain B-cells to calm the misdirected immune attacks that drive multiple sclerosis. Astragalus, on the other hand, has been studied as something that may rev up immune activity. So in theory, these two are pulling in opposite directions, and the worry is that astragalus could blunt some of the benefit you're getting from your infusions.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's based on lab and animal work, not real-world patient studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Briumvi isn't a prodrug, and astragalus doesn't change how it's processed. Still, because your MS treatment matters, I'd run any astragalus supplement by your neurologist or pharmacist before adding it.

What Is Ublituximab-xiiy injection Used For?

  • Ublituximab-xiiy injection is used to treat adults with various forms of multiple sclerosis (MS; a disease in which the nerves do not function properly and people may experience weakness, numbness, loss of muscle coordination, and problems with vision, speech, and bladder control), including :

    • clinically isolated syndrome (first episode of neurologic symptoms)

    • relapsing-remitting forms (course of disease where symptoms flare up from time to time)

    • secondary progressive forms (course of disease where relapses occur more often).

  • Ublituximab-xiiy injection is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It works by decreasing the action of immune cells that may cause nerve damage.
