Ublituximab-xiiy falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Andrographis interacts with.

Briumvi (ublituximab) is an infused medication for relapsing multiple sclerosis. It works by quieting and depleting certain immune cells (B cells) so they cause less nerve damage. In other words, the whole point of this drug is to calm down part of your immune system.

Here's the concern with andrographis: lab studies suggest it can stimulate the immune system, which is the opposite of what Briumvi is trying to do. In theory, that could work against your treatment. I want to be honest though, this is based only on lab and animal research, not real patients, so we don't know how much it matters in practice. Since MS therapy is important to keep steady, please check with your neurologist or pharmacist before adding andrographis.

What Is Ublituximab-xiiy injection Used For?

  • Ublituximab-xiiy injection is used to treat adults with various forms of multiple sclerosis (MS; a disease in which the nerves do not function properly and people may experience weakness, numbness, loss of muscle coordination, and problems with vision, speech, and bladder control), including :

    • clinically isolated syndrome (first episode of neurologic symptoms)

    • relapsing-remitting forms (course of disease where symptoms flare up from time to time)

    • secondary progressive forms (course of disease where relapses occur more often).

  • Ublituximab-xiiy injection is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It works by decreasing the action of immune cells that may cause nerve damage.
