First things first: Black Hellebore is a genuinely toxic plant, and I wouldn't recommend taking it at all. On its own it can throw off your heart rhythm because it contains compounds that act like cardiac glycosides (think digoxin-style chemicals that affect the heart).

Here's the concern with Chlortetracycline, an older tetracycline antibiotic. This is a theoretical interaction, meaning it's based on how these substances behave in the body rather than solid studies in people. Tetracyclines can sometimes lower potassium or magnesium, and low levels of those minerals make heart-affecting compounds like the ones in hellebore more dangerous. The worry is a higher chance of cardiac glycoside-type toxicity: irregular heartbeat, nausea, or feeling faint. Chlortetracycline is not a prodrug, so this isn't about the antibiotic getting stronger or weaker. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using anything containing hellebore.
