Blood Irradiation Therapy + Doxorubicin
Doxorubicin brand names: Doxil, Adriamycin, Rubex, Caelyx, Myocet.
We found no known interaction between Blood Irradiation Therapy and Doxorubicin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Blood Irradiation Therapy and Doxorubicin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Doxorubicin and Blood Irradiation Therapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Blood Irradiation Therapy alongside specific medications may be limited.
Blood Irradiation Therapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Doxorubicin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Doxorubicin is filed under 6 classifications — including topoisomerase ii inhibitors, antitumor antibiotics, glucuronidated drugs. Blood Irradiation Therapy has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate), antidiabetes drugs (moderate) and immunosuppressants (moderate) — and none of Doxorubicin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Blood Irradiation Therapy Does Interact With Other Medications
Blood Irradiation Therapy has 327 moderate known drug interactions in our database — Doxorubicin isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Questions About Blood Irradiation Therapy or Doxorubicin
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Blood Irradiation Therapy or Doxorubicin, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Doxorubicin
This page covers Blood Irradiation Therapy only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Doxorubicin page lists 139 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Grapefruit (major), St. John's Wort (major), Acacia Rigidula (moderate), Acerola (moderate) and Adrafinil (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 110 moderate · 27 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Doxorubicin page
“Doxorubicin (Adriamycin, Doxil) is a chemotherapy drug, and with chemotherapy there is little room for a drug level that drifts up or down, so this list deserves genuine care. Of the 139 supplements and foods on file, only two carry a major rating, but they are common ones: grapefruit, which can raise levels of drugs processed the way…”

Where Blood Irradiation Therapy and Doxorubicin Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#765 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#1,098 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Blood Irradiation Therapy reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified October 4, 2026. The Blood Irradiation Therapy and Doxorubicin records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Blood Irradiation Therapy
What is Blood Irradiation Therapy?
- Chronic infections
- Immune support
- Fatigue and general wellness
- Inflammatory conditions
- Circulatory complaints
Blood Irradiation Therapy is a medical procedure—not a dietary supplement or herb—in which blood is exposed to ultraviolet or laser light, either outside the body and re-infused or by an intravenous light device. It is not approved by the U.S. FDA for treating any disease, and high-quality evidence supporting modern claims is very limited. If you are considering it, talk with a qualified physician and treat any clinic marketing it for serious illness with strong caution.
Whole blood (drawn and re-infused, or treated within the body) · Ultraviolet blood irradiation (UBI), intravenous laser blood irradiation, photodynamic procedures performed in clinics
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Blood Irradiation Therapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Blood Irradiation Therapy record says about it on its own.
Blood Irradiation Therapy: dosing
There is no standardized, scientifically established dose or protocol for Blood Irradiation Therapy. Clinics vary widely in the light source used, the amount of blood treated, the length of exposure, and how many sessions are recommended.Because this is a procedure rather than a pill or supplement, there is no label dose to follow.

About Doxorubicin
What Is Doxorubicin Used For?
Brand names: Doxil, Adriamycin, Rubex, Caelyx, Myocet
Standard (non-liposomal) doxorubicin products, including Adriamycin, are used with other chemotherapy after surgery for women with breast cancer that has spread to nearby lymph nodes. They are also used to treat acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloblastic leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Other uses include several metastatic (spread) cancers: breast, Wilms’ tumor, neuroblastoma, soft tissue sarcoma, bone sarcoma, ovarian, bladder, thyroid, stomach, and lung (bronchogenic).
Liposomal doxorubicin products, including Doxil, have different uses. They treat ovarian cancer that has progressed after platinum-based chemotherapy, and AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma after other chemotherapy failed or was not tolerated. They also treat multiple myeloma, in combination with bortezomib, in people who have not had bortezomib and have had at least one prior therapy.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Doxorubicin
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (95,403 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Doxorubicin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Doxorubicin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Blood Irradiation Therapy — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
