What Is Cefaclor Used For?
Brand names: Ceclor CD, Ceclor
Cefaclor treats a range of bacterial infections. Cefaclor capsules and oral suspension are used for ear infections (otitis media), lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia, strep throat and tonsillitis, urinary tract infections (including kidney infections and bladder infections), and skin and skin structure infections.
Cefaclor extended-release tablets are approved for a narrower set of uses in adults: acute bacterial flare-ups of chronic bronchitis, strep throat and tonsillitis, and uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections. Not all formulations are approved for the same conditions, so the form matters.
