Triavil combines amitriptyline (an older antidepressant) with perphenazine (an antipsychotic), and both already tend to make people drowsy. The concern here is simple overlap: lab work in animals suggests one of caraway's oils, carvone, may have a mild calming, sedative effect. If that holds true in people, stacking it on top of this medication could add to the sleepiness, dizziness, foggy thinking, or feeling unsteady that these drugs can cause on their own.

Keep in mind this is a theoretical caution drawn from how the compounds behave, not from real patient reports. The pinch of caraway in your rye bread or soup is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated caraway oil or capsules are a different story, so it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor before adding them.
