Here's the simple version: caraway, taken as a concentrated oil or supplement, may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Since metformin already works to bring your glucose down, stacking the two together could in theory push your numbers a little lower than expected. That might show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired or hungry.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern comes only from animal and lab studies, not from people, so it's far from certain. The caraway you sprinkle on food is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using caraway oil capsules regularly, just keep an eye on your sugar readings and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.
