Janumet combines two diabetes medicines, metformin and sitagliptin, that work together to lower your blood sugar. The concern here is simple: caraway, in concentrated supplement or oil form, may have a mild blood sugar lowering effect of its own. Stack that on top of your medication, and your sugar could drift lower than intended, raising the chance of hypoglycemia. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or feeling foggy and irritable.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This is based only on animal studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Sprinkling caraway on food is very unlikely to matter. If you're considering regular caraway oil capsules, check your sugars a bit more closely and run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
