Bendroflumethiazide is a thiazide water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body get rid of extra salt and fluid. Catechu, the plant extract you're asking about, may also nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. When you put the two together, those effects could stack up, so in theory your blood pressure might dip lower than expected.

If that happened, you might notice things like lightheadedness, dizziness when you stand up quickly, tiredness, or feeling a bit faint. I want to be honest though: this concern comes only from lab and animal research, not real patient studies, so it's more a caution than a proven problem. Occasional culinary or traditional use is unlikely to cause trouble. If you take a regular catechu supplement, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first.
