Here's the thing about this pairing: catechu contains plant compounds that may nudge blood pressure down a bit on their own. Sodium nitroprusside is already a powerful, fast-acting blood pressure lowering medicine that is given through an IV in the hospital, usually while your blood pressure is closely watched. So in theory, adding something else that lowers pressure could add to that effect.

In real life, this concern is mostly on paper. The evidence here comes from lab and animal studies, not solid human research, so we can't say how much catechu actually matters. Still, if blood pressure dropped too far you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, weak, or nauseated. Since nitroprusside is hospital-controlled, mention any supplements you take to your care team and let your doctor or pharmacist guide you.
