Here's the simple version: kinkeliba tea appears to lower blood pressure a bit on its own. Doxazosin already relaxes your blood vessels to bring blood pressure down, so stacking the two could nudge your pressure lower than you want. That can show up as feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or woozy, especially when you stand up quickly. With an alpha-blocker like doxazosin, that first-dose or standing-up dizziness is already a known thing, so the tea may make it more noticeable.

The good news is this is mostly theoretical and based on weaker evidence, so it's not a reason to panic. Doxazosin isn't a prodrug, so this is just two blood-pressure-lowering effects adding up. If you enjoy kinkeliba, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and watch for dizziness rather than starting or stopping anything on your own.

What Is Doxazosin Used For?

Brand name: Cardura

Doxazosin tablets (Cardura, Doxazosin, Doxazosin mesylate) are approved to treat the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — an enlarged prostate that causes urinary problems — and to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. Doxazosin tablets may be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines.

Cardura XL (the extended-release tablet) is approved only for BPH symptoms. Cardura XL is not approved for high blood pressure.
