Here's the simple version: glipizide already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Kinkeliba tea (Combretum micranthum) may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Stack the two together and the worry is that your sugar could dip too low. That's called hypoglycemia, and with glipizide it can show up as shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, dizziness, confusion, or feeling suddenly weak or hungry.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This is mostly theoretical, based on small or lower-quality human and animal studies, so it's a possible concern, not a proven one. You don't need to panic. If you enjoy this tea, just check your blood sugar a bit more closely and let your pharmacist or doctor know before mixing the two.
