ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Abrocitinib
Abrocitinib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Dandelion interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that dandelion root inhibits platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture: the bleeding concern on file was written for blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs, and abrocitinib (Cibinqo) isn't really one of those. That said, abrocitinib does carry its own bleeding-related caution because it can lower your platelet count, especially in the first weeks of treatment. Lab studies hint that dandelion root may make platelets a little less sticky, so in theory the two could add up and make easy bruising or minor bleeding slightly more likely.
Keep in mind this is based only on test-tube research, not real patients, so the actual risk looks low. Food amounts of dandelion are very unlikely to matter; concentrated supplements are the bigger question mark. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a dandelion product.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Abrocitinib page
“Bleeding is where I'd focus first with abrocitinib (Cibinqo), an eczema pill that can itself lower platelet counts. Of the 290 supplements and herbs with an interaction on file, 202 have blood-thinning or antiplatelet activity, and two of the three major-rated entries, danshen and piracetam, sit in that group.”

About Dandelion
What is Dandelion?
- Water retention (diuretic)
- Digestive upset
- Liver and gallbladder support
- Mild appetite stimulant
- Skin conditions
Dandelion is a common plant used in food and traditional medicine, often promoted as a natural 'water pill' and digestive aid. Human evidence for these uses is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered safe as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements, especially if you have allergies or take other medicines.
