Abrocitinib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Aconite interacts with.

Theoretically, combining aconite with other antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
Higenamine, a constituent of aconite, is thought to have antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects. In an animal model of thrombosis, higenamine inhibited platelet aggregation and reduced the size of thrombus formation.

Here's the thing to know about this pairing. The interaction we have on file is really about aconite's own blood-thinning tendency, not about how aconite changes the way abrocitinib (Cibinqo) is processed in your body. One of aconite's compounds, higenamine, slowed platelet clumping in animal studies, so in theory it could nudge up your risk of bruising and bleeding.

With abrocitinib, that matters because this medicine can already lower your platelet counts on its own, which raises bleeding risk a bit. Stacking something else that thins the blood could add to that. Just keep in mind this is theoretical and based only on animal and lab data, so it's a caution, not a sure thing. Honestly, raw aconite is poisonous and best avoided entirely. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything here.

What Is Abrocitinib Used For?

Brand name: Cibinqo

Cibinqo (abrocitinib) is used to treat moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children 12 years of age and older. It is specifically for people whose eczema has not been adequately controlled with other systemic (whole-body) treatments, including biologics, or when those treatments are not a safe option.

Cibinqo is not recommended to be used at the same time as other JAK inhibitors, biologic immunomodulators, or other immunosuppressants (medicines that reduce immune system activity).
