Naproxen falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Aconite interacts with.

Theoretically, combining aconite with other antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
Higenamine, a constituent of aconite, is thought to have antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects. In an animal model of thrombosis, higenamine inhibited platelet aggregation and reduced the size of thrombus formation.

Here's the gist with naproxen and aconite. Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory pain reliever (an NSAID), and like other drugs in that family it can irritate the stomach lining and make you bleed or bruise more easily on its own. Aconite contains a compound called higenamine that, in lab and animal studies, looked like it could thin the blood a little by keeping platelets from clumping. Stack those two together and the worry is a bit more bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is: it's theoretical, based only on animal and test-tube work, not real patients. Honestly, the bigger concern is that aconite itself is genuinely poisonous and best avoided. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Naproxen Used For?

Brand names: Naprosyn, Naprelan, Anaprox, Anaprox DS, Naproxyn, Navalbine, Naproxen, Naprosyn EC, Napro-Na, Aleve, Arthroxen, Synflex, EC-Naprosyn

Naproxen tablets, naproxen sodium tablets, and naproxen oral suspension are used to relieve the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. They are also used for tendonitis, bursitis, and acute gout, and for managing pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).

Naproxen Sodium Controlled-Release Tablets are indicated for the same conditions plus the relief of mild to moderate pain. Several over-the-counter naproxen sodium products are indicated for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains from headache, backache, muscular aches, toothache, menstrual cramps, minor arthritis pain, and the common cold, and to temporarily reduce fever.
