Minocycline falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Aconite interacts with.

Theoretically, combining aconite with other antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
Higenamine, a constituent of aconite, is thought to have antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects. In an animal model of thrombosis, higenamine inhibited platelet aggregation and reduced the size of thrombus formation.

Here's the thing to know about this pairing: the concern listed isn't really about how minocycline works as an antibiotic. It comes from aconite itself. One of its compounds, called higenamine, may have a mild blood-thinning, anti-clotting effect (seen so far only in lab and animal studies, not in people). So if minocycline happens to be one of the drugs in your regimen that can also thin the blood or affect platelets, the worry is that the two could add up and raise your chance of bruising or bleeding more easily.

Honestly, this evidence is very weak and theoretical, and aconite is a poisonous plant I'd steer you away from regardless. Please don't change your minocycline. Just talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using anything containing aconite.

There is no good scientific evidence that it safely treats any condition, and the only forms generally considered acceptable are extremely diluted homeopathic preparations. We strongly recommend avoiding raw or unprocessed aconite entirely and talking to a pharmacist or doctor before using any product containing it.

About Minocycline

What Is Minocycline Used For?

Brand names: Vectrin, Dynacin, Minocin, Minocin IV, Solodyn, Acnamino MR, Minocin MR, Sebomin MR, Aknemin, Arestin Miscrosperes, Amzeeq, Zilxi

Oral and intravenous minocycline products treat many serious bacterial infections, including Rocky Mountain spotted fever, respiratory tract infections, sexually transmitted infections such as lymphogranuloma venereum and nongonococcal urethritis, plague, cholera, brucellosis, tularemia, and others caused by susceptible organisms. MINOCIN Intravenous is used when oral therapy is not adequate or tolerated.

Extended-release oral minocycline tablets are indicated specifically for inflammatory lesions of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 12 years and older — not for treating infections. AMZEEQ (topical foam) treats inflammatory lesions of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 9 years and older. ZILXI (topical foam) and EMROSI (oral capsule) are indicated for inflammatory lesions of rosacea in adults. ARESTIN (oral powder placed by a dental professional) is used alongside scaling and root planing to reduce pocket depth in adult periodontitis.
