These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Dandelion interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Dandelion in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone
Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Dandelion interacts with.
Laboratory research suggests that dandelion might inhibit CYP1A2. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, until more is known, watch for an increase in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking dandelion.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination product (Damason-P) contains caffeine, and caffeine is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab testing, dandelion appeared to slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in your body, caffeine could hang around longer than usual, so you might notice jitteriness, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired. The aspirin and hydrocodone parts of this medicine aren't really affected through this pathway.
Here's the honest part: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube studies, and it has never actually been reported in people. Food amounts of dandelion are very unlikely to matter. If you take concentrated dandelion supplements and feel extra jittery, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
2 of 2Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone also falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS.
In vitro research suggests that dandelion root inhibits platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version for your Damason-P. This combination already contains aspirin, which thins the blood a bit and makes platelets less sticky. Dandelion, at least in lab studies, seems to do something similar by keeping platelets from clumping. Put the two together and, in theory, you could bruise more easily or have nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or stomach upset that lingers.
Now, the honest part: this concern comes only from test-tube research, not real patients, so it's far from proven. Everyday food amounts of dandelion (a salad green or tea) are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated dandelion supplements are where I'd be more cautious. Before adding one, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

About Dandelion
What is Dandelion?
- Water retention (diuretic)
- Digestive upset
- Liver and gallbladder support
- Mild appetite stimulant
- Skin conditions
Dandelion is a common plant used in food and traditional medicine, often promoted as a natural 'water pill' and digestive aid. Human evidence for these uses is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered safe as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements, especially if you have allergies or take other medicines.
