Here's the thing to know with Entresto (sacubitril/valsartan): the valsartan part already tends to nudge your potassium levels upward. Dandelion naturally carries a fair amount of potassium, and it's sometimes used as a gentle 'water pill.' Stack the two together and, in theory, your potassium could climb a little higher than you'd want, which we call hyperkalemia.

To be honest, this concern comes from lab-style reasoning and dandelion's potassium content, not from strong human studies, so I wouldn't panic. Food amounts (a little dandelion in a salad or tea) are unlikely to be a problem. Concentrated supplements are where I'd be more careful, since high potassium can cause muscle weakness, tingling, or an irregular heartbeat. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

What Is Valsartan and Sacubitril Used For?

Brand name: Entresto

Valsartan and sacubitril is used for heart failure. In adults with chronic heart failure, it lowers the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure. Benefits are most clearly seen in people whose heart pumps less blood than normal (a below-normal left ventricular ejection fraction, or LVEF).

It is also used to treat symptomatic heart failure with left ventricular systolic dysfunction (the main pumping chamber not squeezing well) in children aged one year and older. This use is listed for Entresto and for the sacubitril and valsartan tablet products.
