Why this applies to Birth control pills

Birth control pills falls under CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS — the group Deer Velvet interacts with.

Theoretically, deer velvet might interfere with the effectiveness of contraceptive drugs.
Laboratory research shows that deer velvet contains small quantities of estradiol and testosterone. While clinical research shows that taking deer velvet extract does not raise testosterone levels, estradiol levels were not measured.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the gist with deer velvet and your birth control pills. Lab testing has found that deer velvet contains tiny amounts of natural hormones, including estradiol (a form of estrogen). Since the pill works by keeping your hormone levels steady to prevent ovulation, the worry on paper is that extra hormone-like compounds from a supplement could nudge that balance and, in theory, make the pill slightly less reliable.

I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based on the supplement's makeup, not on real-world cases of pregnancies or failures. The amounts are very small, and it's rated minor and unlikely. Still, since pregnancy prevention matters, it's worth mentioning deer velvet to your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
