Laboratory evidence shows that deer velvet contains small quantities of estradiol and testosterone. While clinical research shows that taking deer velvet extract does not raise testosterone levels, estradiol levels were not measured.

Here's the gist with esterified estrogens (like Menest or Estratab) and deer velvet. Lab testing has found that deer velvet contains tiny amounts of natural estrogen (estradiol). The theory is that adding even a small estrogen source on top of your prescribed estrogen could nudge your overall estrogen activity a bit higher.

If that happened, you'd basically be looking at more of the usual estrogen effects, things like breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, headaches, or spotting. But I want to keep this in perspective: this is a theoretical concern based on chemistry, not real-world reports, and the amounts in deer velvet appear very small. It's rated minor and unlikely. Still, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor before you combine them.
