In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP1A2, although this has not been reported in humans.

Limbitrol DS combines two active medicines: amitriptyline (an older antidepressant) and chlordiazepoxide (a benzodiazepine for anxiety). Neither is a prodrug, so both work as-is once you take them. Amitriptyline is partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. The thinking here is that concentrated eucalyptus oil might slow that enzyme down, which could let amitriptyline build up a bit and lead to stronger effects like drowsiness, dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, or feeling lightheaded.
I want to be honest though: this is only a lab-based theory and hasn't been seen in real people. Sniffing eucalyptus vapor rub or a lozenge is very unlikely to matter. If you're using a concentrated oil supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Limbitrol DS combines amitriptyline (an older antidepressant) with chlordiazepoxide (a benzodiazepine). Both are active drugs that your body clears, partly through a liver enzyme called CYP2C19. The thinking here is that concentrated eucalyptus oil might slow that enzyme down, which could let these medicines build up a bit higher than usual.
If that happened, you might feel more of their usual effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, or feeling unsteady. But I want to be honest: this is only a theoretical concern seen in lab dishes, not in real people. Breathing in eucalyptus vapor or using a lozenge is very unlikely to cause trouble. Swallowing the oil is never safe regardless. If you're using eucalyptus regularly, just mention it to your pharmacist.

Limbitrol combines amitriptyline (an antidepressant) with chlordiazepoxide (a benzodiazepine for anxiety). Both are partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, eucalyptus oil appeared to slow this enzyme down. If that happened in the body, the medication could clear a bit more slowly and build up, which might mean stronger sedation, more drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, constipation, or trouble concentrating.
Here's the reassuring part: this is only lab data, and it has not been seen in real people. Smelling a vapor rub or using a lozenge as directed is very unlikely to matter. Still, since both of these drugs already cause drowsiness, check with your pharmacist before swallowing any concentrated eucalyptus oil product.
