These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Eucalyptus interacts with whole categories of medication. Caffeine , Sodium Benzoate falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Eucalyptus in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Caffeine , Sodium Benzoate
Caffeine , Sodium Benzoate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Eucalyptus interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP1A2, although this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with this combo. The caffeine in this injectable medicine is cleared from your body mainly by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Lab studies hint that eucalyptus oil might slow that enzyme down. If that happened in a real person, caffeine could hang around longer and stack up, which might mean more jitteriness, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling shaky and anxious.
That said, I want to keep this in perspective. This is only test-tube research, and it has not been shown to actually happen in people. Breathing in eucalyptus vapor or using a lozenge is very unlikely to cause a problem. Still, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor, especially before swallowing any concentrated eucalyptus oil.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Caffeine , Sodium Benzoate also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with eucalyptus oil and your caffeine injection. In lab dishes, eucalyptus oil appears to slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the systems your body uses to break down certain drugs. If that enzyme is blocked, a drug it handles can hang around longer and feel stronger. For caffeine, that could mean more of the usual buzz: a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, anxiety, trouble sleeping, or an upset stomach.
That said, I'd keep this in perspective. This is only test-tube data, it hasn't been shown in actual people, and caffeine is mostly cleared by a different enzyme anyway. So a real-world problem is unlikely. Still, never swallow eucalyptus oil, and check with your pharmacist or doctor if you have questions.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Caffeine , Sodium Benzoate page
“Caffeine and sodium benzoate is itself a stimulant medication, so the supplements most likely to cause trouble are the ones doing the same job. Seven of the 208 ingredients on file rate major, several of them stimulant herbs such as ephedra that can pile extra blood pressure and heart strain onto a drug already revving the nervous system.”

Eucalyptus is best known for its strong-smelling oil used in vapor rubs, inhalants, and lozenges to ease coughs and congestion.
