Here's the gist with Activella (estradiol plus norethindrone) and eucalyptus. Lab-dish studies hint that eucalyptus oil might slow down an enzyme called CYP1A2, which is one of the pathways your body uses to clear estrogen. If that enzyme were partly blocked, estrogen could build up a little, which in theory might mean more of the usual hormone-related effects, things like breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, headaches, or spotting.

The important part is that this is only seen in test tubes, not in real people, so it's very theoretical. Breathing in a vapor rub or sucking on a eucalyptus lozenge is very unlikely to change your hormone levels. Never swallow the oil. If you want to use concentrated eucalyptus regularly, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Your Activella combines two active hormones, estradiol and norethindrone, and both are partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies hint that eucalyptus oil might slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in the body, your hormone levels could nudge a little higher, which in theory might mean more of the usual estrogen-and-progestin effects like breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, headaches, or spotting.

Here is the reassuring part: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in real people, so it is very theoretical.
