Here's the simple version: your Capozide already lowers blood pressure two ways, with captopril relaxing your blood vessels and hydrochlorothiazide flushing out extra fluid and salt. European mistletoe may also nudge blood pressure downward. Stacked together, the worry is that your pressure could drop too far.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly, and you could feel tired or even faint. I want to be honest, though: this concern comes mostly from animal studies, so it's theoretical and not proven in people. Still, since mistletoe can be toxic and should only be used under a doctor's care, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide Used For?

Brand names: Capozide, Acezide

Captopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). The two ingredients work together to lower blood pressure more effectively than either one alone.

This combination may be started as initial therapy or substituted when a patient has already been adjusted on both ingredients separately. It is approved for patients with normal kidney function, and is used more cautiously in those with impaired kidney function.
