Fasting + Candesartan Cilexetil
Candesartan Cilexetil brand names: Atacand, Amias.
We found no known interaction between Fasting and Candesartan Cilexetil in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Fasting and Candesartan Cilexetil
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Candesartan Cilexetil and Fasting in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Fasting alongside specific medications may be limited.
Fasting is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.
Fasting safety at a glance
Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Candesartan Cilexetil
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Candesartan Cilexetil is filed under 3 classifications — angiotensin receptor blockers (arbs), antihypertensive drugs, oral drugs. Fasting has documented interactions with 4 drug classes — the most serious being warfarin (coumadin) (major), anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate) and antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Candesartan Cilexetil’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

Questions About Fasting or Candesartan Cilexetil
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Fasting or Candesartan Cilexetil, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

About Fasting
What is Fasting?
- Weight loss
- Blood sugar control
- Heart health
- Religious or spiritual practice
- General wellness and longevity
Fasting means voluntarily going without food (and sometimes drink) for set periods. Some research suggests it may help with weight loss and blood sugar in certain people, but results vary and quality of evidence is mixed. It is not safe for everyone, so check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting—especially if you take medication or have a health condition.
Not applicable (a dietary practice, not a substance) · Time-restricted eating, alternate-day fasting, periodic multi-day fasts, intermittent fasting (e.g., 16:8 or 5:2), religious fasting
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Fasting is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Fasting record says about it on its own.
Fasting: dosing
There is no single "correct" fasting schedule, and no standardized dose. Popular approaches include daily time-restricted eating (such as a 16:8 pattern), the 5:2 plan, and alternate-day fasting. The best choice depends on your health, lifestyle, and goals. If you are new to fasting, it's wise to start gently—such as a slightly shorter eating window—and to drink plenty of water during fasting periods (unless your fast restricts fluids for religious reasons).
From our Fasting monograph — the full record covers uses, side effects and every documented interaction.
About Candesartan
What Is Candesartan Used For?
Brand names: Atacand, Amias
Candesartan tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children ages 1 to under 17. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks.
Candesartan tablets are also used in adults with heart failure (NYHA class II–IV) with reduced heart pumping function to lower the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization from heart failure. Atacand is specifically studied for use alongside an ACE inhibitor for added benefit in heart failure.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Candesartan Cilexetil
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (28,398 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
