ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Magnesium Hydroxide
Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Magnesium Hydroxide falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Fo-ti interacts with.
Some of these drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), dipyridamole (Persantine), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The medicine you're asking about (Ascriptin) is a combination of aspirin with two antacids, aluminum and magnesium hydroxide. The part that matters here is the aspirin, which thins the blood and makes it harder to form clots. That's also why it's used to protect the heart in some people.
Fo-ti's concern isn't about changing how aspirin is broken down. Instead, this root has been linked in rare reports to liver injury. Since your liver makes the proteins that help your blood clot, a damaged liver plus aspirin could stack up and raise your bleeding risk. Watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, dark stools, or stomach upset. This is based on anecdotal evidence (mostly with warfarin), so it's a real but uncommon worry. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Aspirin
What Is Aspirin Used For?
Brand name: Ascriptin
Aspirin is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains from headaches, backaches, muscle aches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, the common cold, and minor arthritis pain. It also temporarily reduces fever.
Some coated aspirin tablet products note that, under a doctor's supervision, aspirin can help prevent another heart attack or stroke in adults who have already had one. Because of their delayed-release design, those coated products will not give fast relief for headaches or other symptoms needing quick relief.
