Cilazapril is an ACE inhibitor that lowers your blood pressure, and it works as a prodrug (your body converts it into its active form, cilazaprilat). The concern here isn't really about how it's broken down. Instead, early lab and animal studies hint that gentian itself may relax blood vessels and nudge blood pressure down a bit. If that holds true in people, stacking it on top of cilazapril could add up to a little extra lowering.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical and based only on test-tube and animal data, so for most folks it's unlikely to be a big deal. Still, if you notice dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand, that's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
